Rules

  1. Diving tables and difficulty ratings in the current rule book will apply.
  2. Each diver must participate in his/her own age group. No one can be moved into a higher or lower age group.
  3. Coaches may compete, provided they meet residency requirements.
  4. All divers must make an honest attempt to complete all the required & optional dives. The referee's opinion in the matter is final.
  5. The referee must be briefed on all Hub Lakes Meet rules which are contrary or additional to the U.S. Diving rules.
  6. The Hub Lakes diving form must be filled out completely & signed by the diver & lake coach before it is accepted by the Diving Chairperson on July 30,2011. A dive once submitted, may be changed up until the announcements of the divers age group, only with the approval of the Diving Chairperson and the Referee.
  7. All diving forms must be in the hands of the Diving Chairperson before 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 29,2011.
  8. Entries: Limited to 2 boys & 2 girls in each age group from each lake.
  9. No diver, 17 and under, will be allowed to participate in the Championship meet unless he/she has competed officially in at least 1 Invitational Meet.
  10. Scoring: 1st - 7 pts; 2nd - 5 pts; 3rd - 4 pts; 4th - 3 pts; 5th - 2 pts; 6th - 1 pt.
  11. Awards: 1st - Trophy; 2nd & 3rd - Medals; 4th, 5th, 6th - Ribbons.
  12. To arrange practice on diving boards during the week preceding Championship Meet, please call the rep of the host team.
  13. Dives must be performed in the order listed under requirements-required first, then optionals.
  14. The Chairperson, in consultation with the lake reps, shall determine if weather or other safety factors indicate if the meet should be postponed, delayed or terminated.
  15. In case the meet is stopped before completion, the lake reps shall meet immediately to plan for completion of the meet.
  16. After completion of a dive, the referee will signal the judges if the dive is to be scored. Scores will be shown simultaneously.
  17. Decisions of the referee are final unless an immediate protest is made by the diver/coach. In such a case, the diver/coach will request the referee to reconsider the contested decision stating the rationale. The referee will then consider the rules of the meet and render an immediate and final decision.
  18. It is the responsibility of each lake coach to monitor score sheets for errors. Corrections made after scores are read must be agreed to by the lake coach, rep, and diving chairperson.
  19. The referee (individual or committee) should be decided before the meet starts. If an individual referee isn't available, coaches working cooperatively shall fill this role by committee.

Diver Requirements

  1. Diver Eligibility: Coaches will determine which divers will represent their teams in the championships.
  2. Age Groups:
    1. Age Group 8/Under - 3 dives (optional) - 1 each from 2 different groups (1M).
    2. Age Group 9/10 - 3 dives (optional) - 1 each from 3 different groups (1M).
    3. Age Group 11/12 - 4 dives. Any 2 required dives (#101, 201, 301, 401 5111 or 5211); 2 Optionals. The Optional dives may be from any of the 5 groups, but they may not be both from the same group. However, each diver must include at least 3 groups in his/her dives. All dives from either high or low board.
    4. Age Group 13/14 - 5 dives. Any 2 required dives (#101, 201, 301, 401, 5111 or 5211); 3 Optionals. The optional dives may be from any of the 5 groups, but no 2 of the optional dives may be from the same group. Either high or low board.
    5. Age Group 15/17 - 6 dives. Any 3 required dives (#101, 201, 301, 401, 5111 or 5211); 3 Optionals. The optional dives may be from any of the 5 groups, but no 2 of the optional dives may be from the same group. Either high or low board.
    6. Age Group 18/Over - 6 dives. Any 3 required dives (#101, 201, 301, 401, 5111 or 5211); 3 Optionals. The optional dives may be from any of the 5 groups, but no 2 of the optional dives may be from the same group. Either high or low board.
  3. Championship Meet Volunteers:
    1. Officials:
      1. 5 judges for each age group
      2. 5 clerks to be selected by the lake reps
      3. 1 referee
    2. Judges:
      1. Must have judged in at least 2 of the current year's invitational meets, or have prior diving experience as determined by the Diving Chairman. Judges are not permitted to judge their child(rens) age group.
