Women's Softball Rules
- The games will start promptly at 6:15pm. Teams will have a right to accept a forfeit if the opposing team is not ready to play within 15 minutes after game time.
- ASA slow pitch rules apply.
- All games shall be played on a field designated by the chairperson.
- Each team manager will supply 1 new ball for each game. The official ball must be one which is purchased through the league.
- The league shall provide the Chief Umpire, who shall umpire behind the plate. The official umpire is in charge of the game.
- Each team shall play with 10 women or a minimum of 8 women.
- Coaches must sign each other's scorebook at the end of each game.
- If a player becomes injured and is forced to leave the game, she shall be permitted to return to the game if the opposing manager agrees. She must bat in the original position in the batting order.
- Noprotest shall be valid unless announced to the umpire and opposing team manager by the protesting manager before play is resumed and submitted in writing by the manager of the protesting team to the chairperson within 48 hours. A committee shall be formed consisting of at least 4 team managers, exclusive of the teams involved. The Chairman will preside and vote only in the event of a tie. The decision of this committee shall be final.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct by a player or manager is subject to disciplinary action by the Board of Directors. All such incidences should be reported in writing to the Chairman within 72 hours of the action. Such discipline may result in suspension for part or all of the current season or the following season for the offender.
- The home team manager will be responsible for postponement of a game due to weather to opposing team manager, the Chairman, and the umpires scheduled for the game by 5:00 pm the day of the game. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a forfeit game to the opposing team.
- Games postponed due to weather will be rescheduled in accordance with a meeting held with the both team managers and the Chairman. The Chairman will render a final decision on the date of play of all rescheduled games and will assign the field for the games.
- If a team is winning by 15 or more runs after 5 innings, the game shall be called if the trailing team does not want to continue.
- All games that are postponed must be made up before the end of the season.
- Equipment: sneakers or rubber cleats must be worn.
- The manager of the winning team must report the results of the game to the Chairman and the CITIZEN.
- Any team which forfeits a game must pay the officiating cost incurred.
- It is the responsibility of the home team to mark their infield with foul lines and have foul poles in place in the outfield Failure to comply with this rule will result in a forfeit to the opposing team.
- In order to be eligible to play in playoff games, athletes must have played in at least 2 regular season games.
